The presentation provides the top ten lessons learned in execution oil & gas projects and some of the pitfalls that can be avoided. They are based on actual research with feedback from various people involved in the execution of projects, from engineers to supply chain to plant operators. These lessons, which can equally be applied to other industries, provide insights on how the quality of a project or a vessel could be impacted by paying insufficient attention to areas such as scope definition, procedures or communication among others.
Alnoor Halari has a PhD in Civil Engineering and Project Management Specialization from the University of Calgary. His expertise focuses in the areas of Capital Project planning, implementation and management, with emphasis on systems that enhance project predictability, leading to improved project execution.
Alnoor has over 20 years experience specializing in Project Management, Project Engineering, Cost Reduction, Performance Analysis, Governance, Capital Projects Planning and Delivery, Projects Controls, Operations Excellence and Development of Project Management Office (PMO). His wide-ranging industry experience includes working for both, Owner and Engineering Companies, which include Exacta Controls, Petro-Canada, Devon, Veco and Jacobs Engineering. Alnoor is currently a Senior Associate with IMC Projects and Vice President at Redpebble.
