Quality Book Talk and Swap
Books are important sources of information for quality professionals, but occasionally they're more than that. Sometimes, a book changes how we see the world, or how you practice as a professional. We're looking for you to share which books have influenced you. Also, if you have a quality (or business) book that you're willing to pass on to someone else, bring it along for QDG's first ever book swap. Tanya and Aldous have a box of great books to offer from their collective libraries, so even if you don't have a book to swap, you are welcome to take one of these gems.
What to Bring (Pre-Work):
1. One PowerPoint slide (on a memory stick) with the answers to the following questions:
- Who are you? (name, quality background, etc.)
- Which are the top 3 quality or business-related books that have most impacted you as a professional?
- How did these books change your practice?
2. One book (or more) that you're willing to pass on to someone else (optional)
At the end of the session, we'll run an experiment to test free, web-based polling software to collect feedback on the session through participants' smartphones, rather than using the paper QDG feedback forms. This experiment may also help you learn how to deliver more interactive presentations.
