QDG - An Introduction to Reliability in Design

About The Topic

The presentation starts with a discussion on risk and uncertainty, followed by a discussion on failure (types, causes, metrics, and effects). An overview of reliability in design is then presented, followed by a demonstration of two reliability tools used in design – Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The presentation uses material from the Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) Body of Knowledge, and would be beneficial to anyone interested in reliability, or anyone thinking about writing the CRE exam.
