SMART is recruiting a quality system specialist for its Calgary office. Reporting to the director, quality, you will work with internal departments to coordinate and administer SMART’s quality management system, including internal auditing for ISO 9001:2008 requirements. You will also be responsible for conducting root cause analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include the following:
· Maintaining and improving SMART’s quality management system processes to meet business and ISO requirements
· Conducting assessments of quality systems to identify opportunities for improvement, and leading the implementation of corrective actions
· Auditing internal processes per ISO 9001 requirements and adhering to internal audit plans
· Administering corrective and preventive actions
· Auditing suppliers’ quality management systems
· Traveling up to 15 percent of the time within North American and internationally

Qualifications

You have the following qualifications:
· Degree or diploma in engineering or a related field
· At least two years’ experience with ISO 9001 auditing
· At least five years’ experience working in a quality role and administering quality management systems
· Experience with controlled document systems and their associated software, including Microsoft® SharePoint®
· Experience using quality tools such as failure modes and effects analysis, control plans, advanced product quality planning and the production part approval process
· Solid experience conducting root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
· Knowledge of statistics, SPC[ and quality metrics, and the ability to provide detailed analyses of data
· Excellent facilitation skills
· Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· A valid passport, or no impediment to obtaining one
· Preferably, experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing
· Preferably, experience with ISO 14001
