Job Responsibilities
Position Title: Facility QC ManagerDepartment: Quality
Group: Drilling and Production Systems
Division: Process Systems
Location: Calgary
Reports To (Position): Plant Manager
Travel Required: Yes
Summary:
Provides technical leadership for The Facility in the areas of welding processes, controlling product quality, and applicable code/specification requirements, through issuance of welding and quality standards, recommendation of equipment, selection of N.D.E. methods and proper training of all facility personnel who affect the overall Quality objective necessary to meet customer requirements and/or exceed expectations. Monitors the development and administration of program to evaluate the quality and performance of the company’s product.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Supervise QC Inspectors (fabrication, paint, incoming inspection)
2. Manage the calibration process
3. Perform ASME/ABSA code pre-audits within facility
4. Provide technical support on ASME/ABSA code issues/requirements
5. Provide ASME Code training and mentoring
6. Maintain QC Manual and provide updates as needed
7. Provide liaison with regulatory and third party inspectors and auditors
8. Review NDE results
9. Coordinate the investigation of customer issues to include warranties, nonconformities
10. Write welding procedures
11. Perform welder qualifications.
Qualifications
Qualification and Education Requirements:1. B.S. in Engineering, Metallurgy or equivalent years experience.
2. 7 – 10 years in quality control experience working in a pressure vessel fabrication environment utilizing ASME Section VIII Division 1 and Section IX Code.
3. Certified Welding Examiner (CWE)
4. Certified W178.2 Level II
5. Knowledge of NDE to include radiology, magnetic particle, dye penetrate and ultrasonic
6. Training on ASME Section 8, 9 code to include certification and compliance requirements
7. Knowledge of the various welding methodologies
Preferred Skills:
1. BS Metallurgy degree preferred
2. NDE Level I or II certified RT, UT, MT, PT, PMI
3. Working knowledge of SAP
4. Excellent presentation skills
5. Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
