General Dynamics is recruiting a Quality Specialist for its Calgary facility. Reporting to the Manager of Quality Management, you will coordinate and administer General Dynamics Canada’s quality management system which covers incoming quality control and internal audits. Experience in conducting root cause analysis to identify opportunities for improvement within the business is an asset.

Job Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform Quality Engineering tasks on assigned projects
Prepare and maintain project quality plans and procedures
Audit work against internal processes as per ISO 9001 requirements and maintaining adherence to internal audit plans
Maintain and improve General Dynamics Canada’s quality management system processes to meet business and ISO requirements
Work with teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities
Conduct incoming Quality Control
Communicate supplier issues with internal and external customers
Co-ordinate weekly Material Review Board activities
Administer the organizations corrective and preventative actions

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

University degree or technical diploma in engineering or a related field
At least 2 years experience in ISO 9001 auditing
Experience with the use of quality tools such as 5 Whys, Parento, FMEA, control plans.
Solid experience in conducting root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
Experience with Lean and Six Sigma is a strong asset
Experience with ISO 14001 is a strong asset
Detail-oriented and thorough
Excellent Facilitation skills
Excellent team player
Able to work independently with confidence
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
