ASQ Calgary is offering a one day workshop on Visual Project Management techniques.  This workshop provides visual tools and a proactive method of communicating key project information that quickly highlights pinch points or problem areas. Concepts will be applied to real projects in the afternoon, therefore, participants should bring current or typical work breakdown structure of a project.

Who should attend:  Project managers, coordinators, leaders or team members involved in or managing projects who are interested in learning about effective tools that help you visually communicate project information.

Anand Nicodemus - Professional Engineer and Lean Sensei  with extensive experience in Laying the foundation for Lean in Public Services.  With over 25 years experience in Lean and Six Sigma,  Anand brings his experience of Visual Management to the world of Capital Projects.

Lori Coon -  Lori is a Professional Engineer and Project Management Professional (PMP) with a certificate in Lean Management from Mount Royal University.   Her lean journey began in the competitive automotive manufacturing industry in the early 90's when utilizing lean philosophy, tools and management was a key to survival for the industry in North America.  The results witnessed on the shop floor, in the engineering department and company-wide illustrated the competitive edge achieved when all people see the waste in systems and work together to eliminate it.  She then applied her entrepreneurial, lean management and engineering skills to co-found a marine transportation company in the Eastern Arctic, rescued a tourism business and offered professional services in business consulting and project management.  

Currently working as a project manager, she has managed capital improvement projects in a variety of industries and businesses including oil and gas, civil infrastructure, asset upgrades and product development, integrating lean tools in each and every project.

Nino Mebuke - Nino earned a BSc degree (major in Genetics) that taught her for life to be a critical, independent thinking person and the importance of being detail oriented. Nino is a certified professional in Lean Six Sigma and Change Management and a graduate with distinction in the Lean Six Sigma program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Nino has travelled to Japan to visit the legendary Toyota plant in Nagoya and learned how the Lean philosophy could influence society and how its tools could be implemented.  
For the last 16 years, Nino  has operated her own business, first beginning as a retail operation (8 years) and then focusing on business consulting projects. She has implemented Lean tools for operational improvements and redesigned processes in a variety of industries – food manufacturing, medical services and education.   Nino is specializing in the implementation of Lean philosophy and tools on a tactical level.  
Nino has served on the board of directors of ASQ Calgary Chapter (2016), is a member of AME, and is on the board of directors of the Lean Practitioners Canada.

Suzy Moutinho - Suzy is a senior management professional whose career spans the railroad, telecommunications and energy industries, primarily in transformational roles in both operations and human resources.  Suzy has saved millions in operating costs through operational improvements or organizational redesign.  Suzy is currently working at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary in Human Resources.  Prior to this role, Suzy led the integration of a medium-sized acquisition at Gibson Energy. Suzy holds two bachelor degrees in Economics and Industrial Relations and a Masters of Business Administration from Queen’s University.  In addition, Suzy has supplemented her work by attaining Mount Royal University certificates in both Lean Management & Continuous Improvement and Supply Chain Management.   Suzy was just awarded one of Canada’s 2017 Top HR Professional.  Suzy is currently on the Board of Directors with Youth Central Society since 2005 and Clear Water Academy Foundation since 2016.  She has also volunteered at Clear Water Academy at various community-building events for the past 10 years.  Suzy is trained and experienced as a grief support facilitator with the Alberta Health Services Grief Support Program since 2008.   Suzy is also on the Finance Council at St. Bonaventure Parish.   www.linkedin.com/in/suzymoutinho/
